Songs of Love Clinical Study with Music and Memory

A study conducted at Wartburg nursing home explored how personalized songs created by the Songs of Love Foundation can impact individuals living with dementia. Participants were asked questions about their lives before and after listening to songs written specifically about their personal memories, relationships, and experiences.

The results showed a clear and consistent improvement in memory recall after listening to the personalized songs, with participants able to answer more questions and reconnect with personal details that were previously difficult to access. The study demonstrated that personalized songs can meaningfully stimulate short-term memory, emotional connection, and engagement.

These findings highlight the powerful role that personalized songs can play as a supportive tool in dementia care—bringing comfort, recognition, and moments of clarity to individuals facing cognitive challenges.
